Salesforce NPSP Specialist

CauseMic is seeking a full-time Salesforce NPSP Specialist with a desire to apply their talents to serving incredible nonprofit clients. This individual will work to understand the evolving needs of the organizations we serve and help implement the technical solutions to enable them to scale with Salesforce and related technologies.

This specialist must have experience with Salesforce NPSP in order to serve well known nonprofits  such as the Oregon Humane Society, USA for UNHCR, the Surfrider Foundation, and Greater Good Charities.   This is a full-time position preferably based in Portland, OR. As a result of the pandemic, CauseMic’s staff are working from home for the foreseeable future.

What You'll Be Doing

In summary, your skills and experience will be applied to helping nonprofits adopt and configure Salesforce and related technologies.  Your responsibilities include: 
  • Provide support during client discovery sessions, including taking notes, documenting requirements, creating systems maps, and analyzing legacy systems or Salesforce orgs
  • Work with Technology Specialist to design and execute on Salesforce configuration requirements, primarily in NPSP, but frequently with custom objects and third party integrations  
  • Identify areas for technology usage improvements and third party applications
  • Translate needs into user stories and technical requirements
  • Customization of new fields, objects, page layouts, list views, reports, etc.
  • Automate with Workflow, Process Builder and Flow
  • Validate configuration through quality testing and facilitation of user acceptance testing
  • Move essential data; data hygiene and upkeep including de-duplication, owner changes; coordinate with data specialist as needed
  • Fundamental data migration within the data management capabilities of the platform
  • Educate clients and administrators on project phases, system functionality, and the Salesforce ecosystem



  • Two to three years Salesforce administration with strong declarative design skills and the ability to deliver customer driven solutions
  • Proven experience with NPSP, Sales Cloud
  • Experience managing projects or engaging in projects with technical and cross functional/departmental components preferred
  • Previous experience working with nonprofits, experience working in fundraising and program management is a plus
  • Certified Salesforce Admin strongly preferred 
  • Exceptional analytical skills and thorough understanding of data models and segmentation mapping
